NELSON BAYS ARTS MARKETING - Arts Marketing provides marketing and business support service for over 200 of Nelson’s artists, craftspeople and associated cultural tourism operators. Members of Arts Marketing create a network of painters, potters, ceramic and glass artists, weavers, winemakers, galleries, cafes and boutique accommodation. The work done by the trust over the last decade has had a positive impact on the arts industry in the Nelson region. These include: the high profile of Nelson as a cultural tourism destination, increased earning opportunities for artists and growth in the number of artists and crafts people moving into the region. The arts industry undoubtedly adds value to the Nelson region. However, there is still little in the way of formal support for young artists wishing to pursue a career in the creative industries.
